Prep Cook

We are seeking Prep Cooks who are eager to learn how to make handmade pastas, breads, to grow in the industry, & strive for perfection. We offer great pay.

Qualified candidates will have

  • Agility to multitask and complete a prep list in an organized and efficient manner
  •  Strong knife handling skills
  • Full Availability is a must; including weekends

Some responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other products as instructed.
  • Take stock of current inventory and prepare daily prep list.
  • Ensure proper food storage and sanitation standards to ensure guest safety.

Head Brewer

The Mulberry House Brewery. seeks to hire an experienced brewer to grow with the company who is proficient in all aspects of green, dry hopped, barrel-aged, and brite beer production.  Position requires knowledge of yeast propagation and production QAQC, capability of overseeing chain of raw materials, and ability to ensure end product is crafted to established standards from 3bbl brewhouse wort production to end product. 

The job is best suited for someone who wants to brew creatively and expand their production skills.  Understanding of raw materials and how they create the end product is essential.

Job Duties and Expectations

  • Ensure beer samples are taken for pH/CO2/DO levels
  • Create new and exiting recipes and SOPs for all areas of operations in the brewery
  • CIP and SIP brewery equipment
  • Purchases and inventory management
  • Dry hop 
  • Operate manual forklift
  • Troubleshoot and solve equipment issues
  • Uphold safety and QA/QC system

Bartender

Under the general guidance and direction of the General Manager & Beverage Direction, the Bartender at The Mulberry House Brewery will excel at applying empathy to every guest they care for so they may create and maintain our guest’s loyalty, while ranking their teammate’s needs even higher. They will be an expert at prioritizing in order to produce efficiency in this fast-paced, multi-faceted, neighborhood restaurant.

Essential Duties

  • Perform all tasks required to open the bar and set up for service, including preparing garnishes and syrups.
  • Prepare beverages for guests at the bar and in the dining room.
  • Serve food to guests at the bar and in the dining room, as needed.
  • Provide warm and welcoming service to guests, create memorable guest experiences.
  • Guide guests through any questions and make intentional recommendations.

Assistant Server

With the high understanding of the technical interrelationship between kitchen and dining room, food delivery etiquette, and dining room traffic patterns from experience as a Kitchen Server, Assistant Servers also understand our cycle of service and their role within.  

Essential Duties 

  • Service- Within the cycle of service Assistant Servers are responsible for water and table maintenance, assisting the Servers where necessary, clearing and resetting tables, understanding private dining room service, and providing clear and responsive guest interaction that maintains the seamlessness of service.
  • Menu- Assistant servers have a detailed understanding of MHB’s Menu Program.
  • Beverage- Assistant Servers have “100 level” beverage knowledge. As well as a general knowledge of MHB’s beer and cocktail programs, Assistant Servers are familiar with our selection of well liquors.
  • Wine- Assistant Servers have a strong foundation of basic wine knowledge. They should be familiar with wines offered by the glass and 100 level knowledge.
  • Beverage Service- Assistant Servers are able to retrieve beverages from the service area of the bar and serve them to the correct guests in the correct order. They also assist the team when required, marking and replacing the correct glassware.

  • Works with the Management Team to run a seamless service, starting with the front door.
  • Greets and seats all patrons.

Dishwasher

Some responsibilities include, but not limited to
 • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
 • Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
 • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
 • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
 • Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators.

Porter/Food Delivery Person

The Porter/Food Delivery person is responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and facility to ensure strict adherence to proper sanitation standards. Additionally, the Porter/Food Delivery person is required to handle multiple daily responsibilities including delivery, display an ability and willingness to take direction, and work in a team environment.

•    Washing Dishes – by hand or using dish machine

Essential Duties

  • Works with the Management Team to run a seamless service, starting with the front door.
  • Greets and seats all patrons.

We are seeking Prep Cooks who are eager to learn how to make handmade pastas, breads, to grow in the industry, & strive for perfection. We offer great pay.

Qualified candidates will have

  • Agility to multitask and complete a prep list in an organized and efficient manner
  •  Strong knife handling skills
  • Full Availability is a must; including weekends

Some responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other products as instructed.
  • Take stock of current inventory and prepare daily prep list.
  • Ensure proper food storage and sanitation standards to ensure guest safety.
  • Prep menu items using recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Ensure food quality will meet or exceed guests’ expectations.
  • Coordinate food orders to support timely and efficient delivery to each guest.

Porter/Food Delivery Person

The Porter/Food Delivery person is responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and facility to ensure strict adherence to proper sanitation standards. Additionally, the Porter/Food Delivery person is required to handle multiple daily responsibilities including delivery, display an ability and willingness to take direction, and work in a team environment. 

Key Responsibilities
•    Washing Dishes – by hand or using dish machine
•    Pot washing – by hand
•    Sorting and removing garbage
•    Nightly deep cleaning
•    Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation
•    Following all food safety standards vigilantly
•   Food delivery to downtown Washington, must have own bike
